About Borehamwood:
Borehamwood, once part of the ancient parish of Elstree, is home to the film-set for Eastenders, located at Elstree Studios in Clarendon Road behind Borehamwood High Street. The studios were once leased to Douglas Fairbanks Jr and were sold to Lew Grade’s ATV in 1962, eventually becoming the home of The Muppet Show. In 1984 the site was bought by the BBC for the production of Eastenders.
Awkward traffic spots around Borehamwood include Stirling Corner and Barnet Lane, both of which can be a real horror story during rush-hour. Once pupils have gained some experience, I teach them how to navigate the big roundabout at South Mimms services which can be very confusing to those who haven’t negotiated it before.
Local secondary schools include Yavneh College, Habedashers’ Aske and Hertswood School.
About the Instructor:
I’ve been a professional driver for most of my life. I started my career at the Rolls Royce plant in Harlseden as an apprentice mechanic before becoming one of their test drivers. Later I worked for HR Owen test driving both Ferrari and Rolls Royce motor cars.
I’ve worked for many years in the executive private hire industry, owning and driving a variety of luxury cars and stretched limousines to deliver celebrities, politicians, judges, diplomats and world leaders to social and State functions.
I enjoy working as a driving instructor, teaching new pupils how to drive safely and proficiently – it always provides a fresh challenge!
Funniest Driving School Story:
A new pupil sat in my car and said “This car has gears! I thought I’d booked an automatic instructor.”
She was happily using clutch and gears by the end of the first hour.

Hamisi makes third time lucky when he takes lessons from KISS

This happy man is Hamisi who has just passed his driving test at Borehamwood test centre after driving lessons with local KISS driving instructor Alec, also from Borehamwood.
Hamisi had taken lessons and tests with other driving schools but had failed his test twice with numerous driver faults. However, Alec from KISS turned him around in just four lessons and he passed his test with only 3 driver errors.
Alec and all @ KISS wish you many congratulations and “safe driving for life” xxx
Valentina passed her test just in time with KISS!

Valentina has much to celebrate after passing her driving test at Borehamwood test centre after having had her lessons from KISS instructor Alec from Borehamwood.
She is very pregnant with twins and so is much relieved that she passed the test before she was too big to fit behind the wheel. Alec was relieved too, although he had brushed up on his First Aid in case she went into labour early!
Well done with the test Valentina and good luck from Alec and all @ KISS with the birth, please send us pics of the babies xxxxx
1st time test pass for Sudev

Another one bites the dust after 13 hours of instruction from KISS driving instructor Alec from Borehamwood. Sudev, from Ruislip, had driven in his own country and needed some more tuition to get him through his test at Borehamwood test centre. Which he did in style………….
