About Ashtead:

Central Surrey is both green and pleasant but also very metropolitan. From the vineyards of Dorking through to the Epsom Downs and its “Derby” racecourse, passing Chessington World of Adventures and on to the River Thames at Kingston. About the Instructor:

Although I had a successful career in the City for 25 years, I had always had an ambition to teach. Having left it a little late to join the staff of Hogwarts, I decided to become a Driving Instructor. I qualified as an Instructor in 2006 and then progressed to become an ORDIT (advanced instructor) in 2008. I very much enjoy teaching pupils of all ages, abilities and nationalities and feel a great sense of pride when a pupil passes their test.

Funniest Driving School Story:

My new pupil was Chinese and spoke no English. His wife came with us on every lesson and translated all my instructions for him. Often by the time she had translated we had already passed the next “left turn” and judging by his expression I think a certain amount of nagging was going on! Huge relief when he passed.
